General Information:
The Recovery Rockstar website is basically a medium by which I can express myself how ever I see fit. There is no theme here and this is not a site simply about recovery. It has come to my attention that although diversity is one of mankind’s greatest strengths it also leads to separatism. The inability for mankind to understand one fundamental truth has created poverty, crime, murder, and even war through out our history. This one fundamental truth is that we are all in fact more the same then we are different. Every person on the face of the planet wants the same thing from our life.
What is it that we want?
Why do we struggle so much to attain the things we want?
Who is our enemy?
These and more questions are what I wish to explore in the pages of this site. The mediums I choose are limited but there are others who see this truth and perhaps with their help we can find some answers.
Most importantly I encourage you to have fun. To enjoy the trip and forget the destination. With each ounce of clarity we get to see a little more of the universe and don’t believe for one instance that we will ever see it all so why waist time looking for a finish line. Instead be thankful for the little truth we are offered.
Mental Masturbation:
I questioned whether or not to use that term because for some reason our society thinks anything sexual is disgusting and should be hidden from the eyes of everyone else who is doing it. That is of course unless they are trying to sell you something. Then sexuality is simply manipulated in order to make us “Good Consumers”… but why waist time here discussing this there are many more appropriate methods to discuss such a thing… podcasts, video… who knows… but this is a good place to point out that not everything I do, say, type or create will make everyone comfortable. It is in our discomfort that we find our true fears and it is facing these fears that we find ourselves.
Anyways the real purpose of this section was to clarify that this is not a pursuit of the so called pointless effort of “mental masturbation” but rather my opinions on subjects that have some meaning to me. Mental Masturbation (am I saying that enough to make you wince) is really a way of showing of how intelligent and witty we are to others. There is no real purpose in this activity except to make ourselves feel good about our own little brains. I will put this belief to an end right here by simply saying “I know nothing”.
To know something makes it harder to know something new. Clinging to the belief that we have all the answers or even some of them only leads to Pride and that is one thing I can ill afford to cling to for self worth. It is not that I am not proud of my accomplishments. It is not that I dislike who I am or feel that humility is an act of self deprecation but a way of knowing and expressing our true selves. For me Pride can spring up in many ways and the most distasteful of all is Self Righteousness. I continual challenge me need to be right with the belief that these things are simply right for me at this point in my life. Or questioning whether it is right for me.
So I know nothing. I have no superior intellect. I will engage in discussions that appear to be bloated with brain cells but I know that understanding does not come through the mind but through the soul and in that way I am often very ignorant.
Conclussion:
Perhaps I will add to this at anouther time or perhaps I will simply do as this site is intended to do and allow what it is to be just that. Why in fact are your reading about what this site is? You are here… you are percieving this site and it is not my job to tell you what it means to you. This site like everything in your life is subjective. I can no more tell you what this site means to you then I can tell you what words like Love, Peace, Serenity and Joy mean to you. I can only tell you what they mean to me… and in reality isnt that what really matters. Not what I think this site is about… But what you think this site is about. So what do you think?
