Self – Pity:
Recently I have had issues dealing with self pity so I figured it was time to open up the mic and get back to work. Nothing cures self-pity like action.
So the economy is in the toilet and people are struggling to make ends meet. The world is all turned upside down which from our experiences means we are in for a change and addicts are not the only people who don’t like change. No one really likes it cause there is the belief that change may bring something bad.
Well ole Bruce is here to let you know that change is what ever you believe it to be but if you are anything like me you might get caught up in some self-loathing umm I mean self-pity… wait are they not the same well lets find out as we go down the rabbit hole and then climb our way back out…
Things to keep in mind:
Remember that your opinion is the only one that matters in your life.
The perils of self Pity
1) Self-Pity causes us to focus on everything that is wrong in our lives.
2) Self-Pity is seeing and concentrating on everything that is negative in your society.
3) Self-Pity is actually focusing on everything that is wrong with us!
4) Self-Pity is not really focusing on external problems but internal fears
5) Self–Pity reinforces self-loathing.
Solution:
1) Realize first that reality is how we perceive it… there is no truth greater then self-truth.
2) Talk to others you trust about the lies that go on in between your ears.
3) Focus on the positive things in your life… ummm YOU!
4) You will always be there no matter what and guess what that is a good thing.
5) Do what is in front of you… focus on the next thing.
6) Be kind to your self.
7) Remove fears… back talk that brain.
8) Be small.
9) Nature is working (God loves you!).
In the end don’t expect to much from yourself. You may move in and out of self-pity on an hourly basis. Just try to remember that all the bad is lies and all the good is truth. Yes it really is.
