Addicts / Alcoholics are the most selfish people you will ever run into. It is not by choice they are simply so scared of not getting there needs met that that has become the only thing they can think about. This does not make them bad, evil, or sinful but we have realized that they are sick. We are sick and that our blinding selfishness is self destructive. In essence we worry so much about not getting our needs met that we sabotage the very ways that God provides them to be met.
Some people still debate if we have a disease… they most have not met to many addicts or they would know the answer.
